We’re excited to announce that effective today Wellness Layers is RMDY Health (or RMDY, for short).
Since Wellness Layers was founded, we have been both astounded and inspired by how far digital health has evolved. It has reached a point where we have essentially outgrown our own name.
As our original namesake, “Wellness Layers”, offered descriptive insight into how our solutions could help companies take their patient programs digital. Our modular solutions offered a “layered” approach to delivering a combination of self-management, community and dynamic content to the growing numbers of health consumers online. Through our cloud-based DIY platform, healthcare organizations could easily access all the tools they needed to build powerful Web portals and smartphone apps straight out of the gate.
For years this remained our singular focus. Meanwhile, the benefits of digital health were becoming increasingly apparent as stakeholders sought out innovative solutions for engaging and empowering patients, while increasing efficiencies. Propelled forward by the growth of mobile and ever more technology-savvy patients, health organizations were ready to digitize across the enterprise. Our goal was to make this transition as simple as possible with technology uniquely designed for them.
We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved to date. Through our work with partners like Medtronics, IBM Watson, AHA, VillageCare, Vitality and Premera our technology supports tens of thousands of people living with chronic disease like diabetes, heard disease and HIV/AIDS, or served through health programs for remote medication management, employee wellness, and weight loss.
Today, the focus on driving patient empowerment and wellness through digital has evolved into a focus on digital’s growing, integral role in care delivery and treatment.
RMDY reflects our commitment to continuing to drive this evolution.
The shift is seismic – away from engaging patients to supporting them in new and powerful ways to improve outcomes. A new report by Grand View Research shows the market for emerging “digital therapeutics” is expected to grow from $1.7 billion in 2016 to over $9 billion by 2025. According to a recent Mobihealthnews analysis of 2018 trends, “digital therapeutics” will gain momentum as more companies embrace technology as a means to manage, prevent and even treat disease.
We’re excited to be heading into 2018 to help make digital transformation possible for more organizations, clinicians and patients everywhere. Our recent strategic investment by Merchavia Holdings positions us to deepen our product capabilities, and expand into more markets.
